Important Information

The following information is intended to help you in your holiday planning and give you some idea of what to expect. I am afraid this is only a general guide and I apologise for any mistakes or useful points missed.

Keys and local contact: The keys to Camelot are kept in a secure box to the right of the porch. We will send you the code to open it when we confirm your booking.

 

Should you have any problems during your stay, please contact Mr. and Mrs. Davis. James cuts the grass and Kay comes in to clean the cottage. They can be contacted on 01239 820276.


On the key ring you will find keys to the front doors, garden and coal sheds, and the window locks.

 

The property also includes the adjacent ruined building with its sheds where you will find the washing line, coal shed and a shed containing sun chairs and garden tools for the enthusiastic.

 

Please note - being situated on the old harbour wall, Camelot is in quite a public location, and there are rights of way between the cottage and the ruin.

 

Changeover:  Please do not arrive before 4 p.m. and please vacate Camelot by 11.00 a.m.

Please leave Camelot clean and tidy.

 

 

Accomodation

Having two double-bedded rooms and a pair of bunks, double glazing and central heating Camelot will accommodate up to a maximum of 6 people all the year round. The facilities it provides are as follows: -
 

Sun porch - with bench seating on two walls, a two-seater settle and a round table seating six. It is ideal for meals when the weather makes eating outside unpleasant.

 

Sitting room - coal fire, settees, window seat, Pembroke dining table and chairs seating six, TV with DVD player, video player and portable radio/CD cassette player with hatch into....

 

The kitchen has a deluxe electric cooker with ceramic hob, two ovens extractor hood over, microwave, food processor (instruction books in drawer) fridge and separate freezer, dishwasher, automatic washing machine, with plenty of glasses, crockery and cutlery.


Bedroom 1 - with double bed, duvet or blankets and electric blanket, and fitted cupboards


Bedroom 2 - with double bed, duvet or blankets and electric blanket, and fitted cupboards.


Bedroom 3 - with two single bunks, duvets or blankets, and fitted cupboards..


Bathroom with power shower, bath, hand-basin, and airing cupboard.


Lavatory with small hand basin.


Amenities There are locally woven fitted carpets throughout the cottage apart from in the kitchen and the porch, which are tiled. Liquid gas heats the radiators in the bedrooms, hall and sitting room and the hot water. The open fire in the sitting room and infrared heaters in the bedrooms and bathroom provide supplementary heating. Camelot does NOT have a telephone (some mobile phones, notably Orange, work in Camelot but not all) but there is a call box at the bottom of Parrog.


Linen: We regret but we do not supply linen or towels, so you will need to bring sufficient sheets, pillowcases, tea towels, bath towels and bath mats.

 

Charges

Rental - Camelot is rented on a weekly basis throughout the year, and the rates change accordingly. You will be asked to pay 25% of the rental by way of confirmation at the time of your booking and the balance including payment for fuel used MUST be paid within two weeks of the completion of your stay. There is a folder of forms in the cottage to assist you calculate the balance of charges etc and to report back on how you found the state of Camelot

 

Electricity & Gas - There is an  electric meter in a box outside the porch to be read and recorded in the logbook in the porch cubbyhole when you arrive and depart. The costs per unit are shown in the front of the book to enable you to calculate your charges, which should be paid with your final payment. The gas is not presently metered so you will be charged a set amount depending on the time of year until we can change this

 

Coal - You will find coal in the coal shed. Please note down how many scuttlesfull you use - these are chargeable at a rate per scuttle, current price shown in the front of the electricity logbook. Should the coal stocks run low, please  phone Goodwick Heating  of Goodwick – 01348 872623 and order coal and ask for it to be charged to us.

 

Other points

Breakages - Please replace any items broken during your stay. Do please try to replace them with something of equivalent standard and colour. Any colour will do for kitchen crockery as long as it is white!

 

Repairs - Any problems with Camelot should be notified to Mr. and Mrs. Davies who will make the necessary arrangements.

 

Pets - Are OK but should you bring pets with you, please keep them off the furniture and make sure that no hairs are left behind afterwards. A number of our tenants are allergic to cat and dog hairs and suffer considerably.

 

Cleaning - We ask our tenants to leave Camelot clean and tidy. However after your departure Camelot will be cleaned and made ready for your successor by our cleaner, Mrs. Kay Davies – 01239 820276.

 

Cancellations - Should you subsequently have to cancel your booked holiday, we will initially retain your deposit, but will try our hardest to find someone to replace you. If we do, then your deposit will be returned in full. If not, we will have to retain it, and if your cancellation occurred within a month of your holiday we would require payment of 50% of the rental due as well.

Fire Regulations - Camelot, with its lounge furniture and mattresses fully conforms to the Government’s regulations concerning fire resistance in let property. There is a fire extinguisher in the kitchen and smoke alarms in the hall and a bedroom. The window in the bunkroom is single glazed so that it can be broken easily should a fire occur and the route to the front door is blocked.
